Osteochondral Autograft Transplantation Surgery (OATS)

Just like skin or bone graft, cartilage grafts along with its bony columns can be used to fill up large areas. These grafts are harvested from that area of joint which does not bear weight. This method, called Osteochondral Autograft Transplantation Surgery (OATS), allows placement of mature, durable natural cartilage in the damaged area.
